Today, you can download several nice picture books for free in the Amazon Kindle Store. I also found a couple interesting novels, one of which was originally published by the major Christian publishing company Bethany House.
If you are new, take a minute to read through this necessary information about my lists:
- Don’t forget to check prices before downloading. International customers may be charged a fee for downloading even free books via the US Amazon store.
- You can read a Kindle eBook on non-Amazon devices by downloading their free app unto your PC or i-pad.
- This list only reflects my personal opinion.
- This blog uses affiliate links.
- If you want to read all about how I find these books, create these lists, and choose what to feature, read my FAQ on Finding Free EBooks.
- I am unable to read every book (especially novels) due to time constraints. This list does not imply endorsement of these books or authors.
Today’s Best Free Kindle Books for Kids:
I’ll Trade My Peanut-Butter Sandwich by Chris Robertson
Do you remember Kit and Kaboodle, a cute manner book from a couple days ago. Well, today we are in luck, another one of Chris Robertson’s books I’ll Trade My Peanut-Butter Sandwich is available for free. This eBook is published by Kite Readers, one of the leading publishers of high-quality eBooks for children.
In I’ll Trade My Peanut-Butter Sandwich a small boy is pictured up-trading his way through a number of objects culminating with the universe. Cutely, he then is hungry and trades back the whole universe for the original sandwich. Robertson’s illustrations are bright and kid-appealing and the formatting is great (of course, Kite Readers always have brilliant formatting.)
I have to admit my favorite part of Kite Reader books is reading the author descriptions in the back of the book. This book is particularly funny with “Chris Robertson knows a little bit about the art of trading. Chris once traded a brand new washer and dryer . . . for a donkey on a TV show called ‘Let’s Make a Deal.’ I’m hoping for Chris’ sake that this was BEFORE marriage, because I’m not sure I would speak to my husband if he traded anything useful for a donkey.
You can read more about Chris on his website which contains links to his Facebook pages. You can also view samples of his illustrations on his Behance page.
Summer by Dianne Miller
Dianne is being kind to us this week with another free eBook: Summer. Dianne’s picture books are always adorable with her cute little bunny and his/her mother. Today’s book tackles the subject of boredom . . . {hmmm} Sounds like a familiar childhood problem.
By the way, did you know that Dianne Miller has a website full of free printables to go with her books. In fact, today’s book Summer has a cute seek-and-find coloring sheet to go with it.
I also have an interview with Dianne Miller where you can read about her background as a successful landscape artist and how she ended up writing books for children.
Hidden Diary: Volume Two by Sandra Byrd
Award-winning novelist Sandra Byrd has released some of her books for children that were once published by Bethany House in the Kindle Store. The Hidden Diary series is written for 8-12 year-olds, with this particular book having a theme about two friends who find and hide a dog (which then ends up having puppies unexpectedly.)
You can read more about Sandra on her blog, Facebook page, and Twitter account.
I’m short on time today, so I didn’t write very detailed descriptions, but I still made a list on Amazon of some of the better free Kindle books for kids that are available today:

Hi Bethany, The book description on Amazon for “Hidden Diary Vol 2″ says the book series is for girls ages 8-12.
Thanks, Doxie. Obviously, I didn’t look hard enough. : ) I will add that!
