Crisp fall weather makes reading a picture book all the more cozy and wonderful. So, today for The Children’s Bookshelf, I am featuring some fall picture book lists that were linked up last week.
Be sure to put some of these book selections on your library reserve list before they all disappear!
I really, really like Melissa’s blog Julia’s Bookbag. It is entertaining, casual, and full of great recommendations. I’ve already requested from my library several of these non-scary Halloween picture books that Melissa recommends.
Pen Pals and Picture Books always has some wonderful book recommendations, and this week they linked up a long list of favorite fall picture books. You can also check out their list of Halloween themed books which looks equally wonderful.
Carolyn from The Pleasantest Thing is one of the contributors to the Facebook Picture Book of the Day group, and she comes up with some great book lists. She has some lovely picture books on this list of fall picture books. (It’s not book related, but you should also check out her Halloween Party Planner and Playful Halloween Parade!)

There are several books on these lists we haven’t read. Which is perfect because we are headed to the library and plan to get out some non-scary Halloween picture books!
Thank you for featuring my lists- and linking to the Halloween posts.
Thanks, Carolyn. By the way, we checked out Rosie’s Walk from the library this week. I can’t believe that we have never read it!
you will ADORE ‘Rosie’s Walk’!!!
We read it last night, and my preschooler laughed the whole way through!
Thank you so much Miss Bethany, for featuring us! Such a huge happiness for me to share our book finds with like-minded book lovers and to discover new treasures from others…:)
Thanks, Melissa. I LOVE your blog and you always pin the best stuff to The Children’s Bookshelf board!
Do we have all of these at our local library?
No. I looked for some of the Halloween books last night and couldn’t find them all. We do have many of them though. By the way, I talked to a librarian Saturday and Mo Willems’ book Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs just hit the shelves and Let’s Go on a Drive should be out soon!
Such a great link up of fall and Halloween books! Love it!
Thanks for this Linky Bethany – I will be a regular contributor. Always looking for some great new reads. Cheers!
