I would like to wish a happy Mothers Day to all the wonderful women in my life, and who read this blog. You deserve to be honored today whether you have young children, older children, children in heaven, or have no children.
For Mothers Day, I decided to take the time to do a few special crafts with the children as gifts for the grandmothers and to decorate our home.
Via a wonderful free printable from Lovely Living we created fingerprint trees. Ben’s fingerprints are the leaves, and Grace added flowers in pink.

I can’t remember where I saw this idea, but I also plan to let the kids paint a 4 x 4 canvas each year to put on the wall.

| My children painted their first annual Mothers Day artwork for our wall. |
I loved their artwork, because it highlights their wonderful unique personalities. Grace (almost 16 months) painted the delicate painting on the left. She was so careful not to get paint on her hands and sweetly made different strokes of color. Ben (almost 4) painted the brown painting on the right. He is my do-everything-fast-and-furious child. He diligently took huge smears of different colors of paint and painted each one right on top of each other. He normally is “done” after one or two colors, but he kept painting and painting while telling me, “Mommy, I’m painting with lots of colors just for you, because I want it to be beautiful.” {heart throb!} He also wanted to be sure that I would put his artwork on my blog.
I also plan to take hand prints, but I’m not quite sure how to get Grace’s hand print without a huge mess!
