Of course, I’m kidding. But, here are some ideas anyway, because typically my kids get PLENTY of candy from other sources. Of course, I am not kidding about wanting the dark chocolate so hopefully my husband is reading this!
- Markers – My pick: Crayola Pip-Squeaks – This marker collection is perfect for Easter baskets with names like “Copper Penny” and “Raindrop Blue”
- Plantable paper seed cards shaped like ducks and bunnies
- A “Boo-Boo Bunny” (you can DIY or buy)
- Miniature animals – our dollar store always has packets of these!
- Tickets to a petting zoo or local attraction
- These colorful ribbon holders would go perfectly with some bright hair bows.
-
Card Games
- Jewelry (check out this cute Easter bracelet)
- Crayons (here is a cute Easter themed crayon roll)
- I love these handmade rattle Easter chicks!
-
Colored Pencils
- Colored Goldfish cheese crackers (or orange in these cute carrot DIY packages)
- Pastel play dough (make your own!) – you could make a batch, color small parts in different colors, and then place in matching plastic eggs.
- Sock monkey Easter eggs
- A Tea Set and maybe this adorable felt tea bag and strawberry set to go with it!
- “Coupons” from Mom and Dad for a one time special privilege (ex. a “ticket” to the park or library, or a dollar treat at the store next time shopping)
- Some special new music (one of our favorites: Through a Child’s Eyes)
- Loving this crochet pattern for a miniature Easter bunny in cradle!
- How about a miniature Easter basket for the dollhouse? (or the Easter bunny in cradle of #18 would also be perfect for the dollhouse!)
- Sidewalk chalk
- Melissa and Doug wooden play food or dress up doll set
- Nail polish formulated for children
- Max and Ruby beanie set (maybe with a Max and Ruby book)
- Beach bucket basket with beach toys and a ticket specifying a day you will take them to the beach!
- And of course, an Easter book (check out my list of over 25 great Easter books!)
What non-candy items do you like to add to your children’s Easter baskets?

What a great collection of sweet treats! I think I’ll try the letter and maybe the Easter bunny will bring ME some chocolate this year!
I am trying some felt finger puppets in some eggs. They love playing with some I made a long time ago so new ones are nice.
What a great list of alternatives and I agree whole heartedly about who needs the chocolate in this house as well
Thank you for sharing with Kid’s Co-op this week.
